On the 2nd February 2017, the P7s from Miss Quigley’s class took a trip down animation lane at the Enniskillen castle. As soon as we entered the new building we sat down to have our snack. Then the fun began.
We went upstairs and split into groups of 3 or 4 and listened to Colin and Laura, our instructors. On our tables there was a stand with an iPad on top of it and a lot of cartoon characters including Sophie, two giants and, of course, The BFG, dreams and arms for the giants in case you wanted to move them.
We listened to our instructors while they told us to click on the app, I-motion, and tap the button: new movie. We had to take over 100 pictures each with only slight movements of the characters. That would only make around 10 seconds of film.
Then we had to use an app called Green Screen to put in a background that fitted the BFG. We then used iMovie to add in music and voice recordings to make the movie sound as well as it looked. We then added in some credits to show who created each video. At the end we watched everybody else’s videos; it was very funny because each one had a different story line.
After that we talked about what we had made and we got to say how we felt about each video. Everyone agreed that they were all funny. We put everything away and said thank-you to our instructors for the fun we had, then we got on to the bus back to school. When we got back we discussed what our favourite part was, we all agreed that our favourite part was ALL OF IT!!!
