P7 Classes enjoyed a trip to the American Folk Park,
Our P7 classes had a great day out at the American Folk park in Omagh.
On Wednesday 24th January our P7 classes went to the American Folk Park in Omagh to reinforce what we have learnt about the Famine topic. Our favourite part was mainly going on the ship.
We found the mannequins quite creepy as well but it made it really lifelike! It felt like we had travelled back to the past!
We also enjoyed the streets and shops. We especially enjoyed the American streets. The houses also felt very historic too. We were told stories of the people who once lived in the houses. One of the houses was an original, it was once home to the Mellon Family. At the end of the talk we sampled some food! The staff were very welcoming and we loved their costumes! The stories they told were very vivid! In the printing shop, which was on the street leading to the ship, we were introduced to the man that once worked there. In an accident involving his job one day he had lost the top of his finger!
Overall the trip was very enjoyable and we would definitely rate it 10/10!
