P5 St Patricks Ceili celebration
Mrs Kelly and some of the P5 pupils held a ceili for the KS2 pupils on Cornagrade and again for the KS1 on Mill Street this morning. Both halls were packed for these lively events and there was a lot of excitement amoung children, staff and in particular the dancers. The band, consisting of Father Seamus (Fiddle), Jim (Accordian), Clare (Keyboards) and Mr Treacy (Bodhrán) played some wonderful irish music and the children performed a number of dances, they were fabulous. There was lots of cheering and clapping from the other classes and the staff.
At the end the staff were invited to join the children for one final dance. Congratulations to all the P5 children who have been practicing over the past weeks to perfect the dances, a big thank you to Mrs Kelly for her wonderful tuition. Thank you to everyone who helped with the céilithe. It was a wonderful to see our children celebrating our heritage and everyone really enjoying themselves and having great fun
