Thank you to Colin Reilly (father of Beatrice in P5) for coming into our school to tell the children all about bees. The children listened to great facts about the queen bee, how bees make their honey and how many bees live in a hive.
Colin gave out prizes of honey and honey lip balm to the children who asked the most interesting questions. Some children got to sample different honey from around the world – even some from Transylvania.
Maria got to try on a suit that you wear when you go near the bee hives. He also told the children about the dangers of bee stings – he told them his worst bee sting was up his nose and it was very sore.
