P1 Autumn fun
As the days are becoming colder and the crisp Autumn season is upon us, our new and enthusiastic Primary 1 children are using this change in season to engage in lots of fun learning experiences to develop and their curiosity about Autumn.
Outdoor learning is an important part of early years learning; Being outdoors has a positive impact on the children's sense of well-being offering them opportunities to use all of their senses, as we explored in Florenscourt at "Trusty's Trail." The children learnt all about where Trusty the hedgehog lives in Florencecourt & they explored things which they like about Nature. They helped to sort items into man made or natural and explored their senses of smell, touch, hearing and sight.
Our Autumn learning has continued in the classroom through many aspects of play. We've been making Autumn soup at the water tray, making leaf prints at the sand tray, making sets of leaf prints with paint, choosing and paying for fruit & vegetables at granny's market, exploring how to use our Jolly phonics to write some autumn words, and planting bulbs for spring time.
Look how busy we've been!
