Mr Starrs P6 class enjoy a Townlands talk From Mr Frank Roofe.
On the 19th of January 2016 Mr Starrs’s P6 class was visited by Mr Frank Roofe from Fermanagh & Omagh district council.
Frank was telling us about the geography and history of Ireland.
He gave us an acronym to help us remember the six counties in Northern Ireland or FATDAD, F for Fermanagh, A for Antrim, T is for Tyrone, D is for Derry, A is for Armagh and D is for Down.
He told us the meanings of our Townland names and some of the history of those areas.
He had a power point that had great pictures of the map of Ireland and Fermanagh.
Then he told us about the town hall and all the historical pictures and information that is in it.
It was a great talk and every one really enjoyed it. It had a lot of fascinating information and we learnt a lot about Ireland and the history with it.
