Helping Out with Maths in the Evening - Parents Information Night
On Tuesday 2nd May, Holy Trinity hosted an information night for parents on how they can effectively support their children with Numeracy at home. The session was facilitated by Timothy Doyle who specialises in early intervention in Numeracy. Timothy emphasised the importance of children having a sound understanding and quick recall of number bonds to 10, e.g. 3 + 7 = 10, 6 + 4 = 10 and 10 – 2 = 8 as this knowledge is transferable to other aspects of Numeracy such as HTU, money, measure and time.
Timothy shared some websites that are useful in supporting children with Numeracy. We hope you enjoy working with your children through the games on the websites.
You may download the parent booklet ‘Helping out with Maths in the evening’ from our school web site (www.holytrinityps.com) see the Parent Info/Information for Parents page.
Thank you to the parents who attended the information night.
