Mrs Kelly & her P5 dancers celebrate St Patricks day with a Ceili at KS2

15th Mar 2018

What a wonderful Ceili the KS2 children enjoyed today in celebration of St Patricks Day. Thank you to Mrs Kelly and her dancers who worked really hard over the past weeks to prepare for the Ceili.  They gave a wonderful display of Irish dancing and the whole of KS2 were clapping along to the music.

Mrs Kelly & Mr McElroy's classes danced the Seige of Venice while Mrs Gormley's class danced the Walls of Limerick. Then Mrs Kelly, along with P5 pupils Conal, Clodagh, Cassie, Niamh & Dearbhla, performed the Brush Dance. There was lots of excitement as the children watched the dancers stepping over the broom sticks.

Solo dancers Dearbhla & Teagan danced a Reel while Ellie & Gabrielle danced a Hornpipe.  They danced so confidently and beautifully, well done girls.

The musicians accompanying the dancers were Mrs Mongan, Mrs McManus, Mr McGrath and Miss Murray.   The music was excellent and the children really enjoyed clapping along and watching the dancing.

The P5 pupils and staff really got into the swing of things at the end when they all danced together for the 'Siege of Venice'.  The children were amazed to see their teachers dancing.

Thank you again to Mrs Kelly and all the P5 dancers for putting on such a wonderful Ceile.  It was fantastic.
